What exactly is bearing weight?

According to Cambridge dictionary, bearing weight is: “Supporting the weight of your body”

We are constantly bearing weight (even in lying down). Our skeletons support the weight of our bodies under the force of gravity.

 

How our brains organize that skeleton under the force of gravity determines how well-organized our movements are (how good our balance is, how coordinated we are).

 

Bearing weight is really a conversation about how well our kids can organize themselves under the force of gravity.
